When I first moved from California to Arizona the Native American influence had a great impact on me, as did most of the "severe beauty" of the desert. Our Light horse is taking the road from one life into another with native symbols leading the way. The Feathers on his mane tell of communicating with a higher power, the arrow of course is a universal symbol of direction, but is also a hopi symbol, along with the steps to betterment. A really fun piece to do that resonated with my personal changes...all good.
A special thanks to Laurie Pace, MaryJo Zorad and Amy Tuso for all their help with my entry into Contemporary Fine Art International
