"Famous Artist" Impressionist Watercolor Portrait by Arizona Artist, Sharon Sieben

Watercolor, medium that I tend to resist. I'm really intimidated by process but am going to give it my best efforts. I am not a realistic painter, however, think for a learning process, and getting a feel for the technique, it's probably a good idea to go there for now (as much as possible) until I get a better skill set

This Oil and Cold Wax painting began with slathering on three seperate layers (above) of paint to create body, texture and depth using scrapers and palette knives and mark making tools. The final layer (below) reveals the figure and more values.
