Bryce Canyon Meadow

"Bryce Canyon Meadow"
Plein Air
Oil on Canvas, 8"X10"
$250

I love to find the back roads that are often near our national parks. Some real treasures are found on these roads. Bryce Canyon is spectacular. The red rock formations and the hoodoos are amazing, but so are many of the calmer meadows and the wide open views. I traveled this gravel road and spotted this scene. One sees about 50 miles here. In the meadow in the foreground is a seasonal creek, and the oranges and yellows mixed with some red and green were fascinating. I stood along a fence line and painted. Eventually, the gray clouds became darker and just as I finished it started to rain.
