HOLY GROUND
36" x 36" x 1.5 "
Acrylic on Canvas
I was here in this place on Oct. 4, 2001, at 4:00 AM. It was dark,
very dark, except for the gray, gray dust that was everywhere and
that had the stench of death. The lone policeman stood watch at the
barricades that separated "the pile" from the rest of the area. Workers
sifted the remains 24/7, finding bodies and body parts. This is indeed
Holy Ground, santified by the blood of 3000 innocents who went to
their death on 9/11/2001. The Entity, silent and unseen, stands watch
and observes as the humans mourn and take care of their dead and
broken possessions. There are many images I saw at that time,
but this is the one that has stayed with me more than the others.
The painting is for sale--$1300.00. For more information, please
contact Pat Stacy at pastacy@cox.net or 602-290-3009.
