Bluebird on Double Bass - "Singing the Blues" by Barbara Rudolph

"Singing The Blues"
14"x14"
Oil on Canvas

This new oil painting of a "double bass" has an "Indigo Bunting" sitting on the bridge of the instrument.  I photographed this antique bass at the "Musical Instrument Museum" here in town.  If you haven't been yet, it is a museum not to miss because it is simply spectacular.  This museum called the "MIM" has the most wonderful collection of musical instruments from every country in the world.  This "double bass" was labeled probably from Germany or the Czech Republic dated 1930-1945.

"Singing the Blues" was a fun painting.  I received a comment that the instrument overpowered the little "bluebird".   Yes it does, but I kind of like it that way.  What do you think?  Your comments on my personal blog are very much appreciated too.  Thank you.
