"Las Florecillas", 10x10 oil on deep-edge canvas By Stevie Denny
I've posted studies of this piece in the past that were done in watercolor, but I painted this one in oil. I don't paint many pieces in a 10x10 size, but it's for the Mesa Arts Center 10x10 Benefit Show and Sale on Monday, October 10. All paintings in the show are sold for $100 each, and all proceeds benefit Mesa Contemporary Arts exhibition and educational programs. For those of you who live or work in northeast Mesa, you may recognize the lamp with the flowers in this painting. My inspiration came from the courtyard at Rancho de Tia Rosa Restaurant on McKellips near Val Vista.
