We have a beautiful trail within a mile of our home,

and soon it will begin to flower.

Southwest landscapes continue to fascinate me,

so very different than the Florida scene in which I was raised.

Mostly I love our mountains, and had the pleasure of driving with friends

up north to Payson earlier this week where we had gorgeous vistas.

"Wild Flowers" by Li Hua Mahalik

I painted this from a picture my friend, Gloria Cuadraz, took when she visited Greer, AZ, by the White Mountain last spring. The field of flower extended to as far as the horizon. It must have been awesome to be there, and it made me want to go there sometime.
