Turmoil, Seascape Paintings by Amy Whitehouse

16" x 20" Oil $200

Having just read Dead Wake, by Erik Larson,
I have a fresh respect for the ocean seas.
And, emotional turmoil likes to visit.

Painted with large, dynamic brushstrokes,
I hope this painting evokes the wind and surf.

Stormy Monday, Contemporary Beach and Ocean Paintings by Arizona Artist Amy Whitehouse

8" x 10" Oil, $150

As I've said many times, I love a green sky.
I also love a stormy day at the beach.
This contemporary seascape has been painted in oils
with minimum strokes to give it movement and life.

Ocean Storm, Abstract Seascape Paintings by Arizona Artist Amy Whitehouse

11" x 14", Oil, $400
Day 6:  Challenge 30/30
30 Paintings in 30 Days

Switching gears from North Carolina country scenes,
to seascapes.
The storms and cold weather must be kicking up some waves
in my old stompin' grounds near Jacksonville, Florida.
Painted with brushes and palette knives,
R&F pigment sticks and traditional tube oils,
it was fun imagining the sun being overcome by
the stormy weather, the waves sliding over the sand.
Glad to be a desert rat today in Phoenix.
