Gestures Study IV - Acrylic, crayon, graphite on Archival Paper

I've found that preliminary sketches have a quality I sometimes can't reproduce in a finished work, particularly gestural studies done in Life Drawing workshops. Since they are on newsprint paper, they only serve to be used as resources.

So I tried doing a sketch on gessoed paper to provide and archival surface and using graphite instead of charcoal. Then, adding an acrylic abstracted background, gestural study sketches have become "Contemporary Fine Art

One of the things I like about this time of year is an annual trek to Tubac AZ.  It is such a cool place to visit.  Lots of wonderful shops and galleries!  This piece, along with a few others, will be delivered to the Feminine Mystique Art Gallery.
