Land of Enchantment, Southwest Landscape Paintings by Arizona Artist Amy Whitehouse

12" x 16", Oil on Stretched Canvas, $295

Painted with juicy R&F pigment sticks,
this landscape painting says New Mexico to me.
I don't understand how the sky can "be bigger" here
in the Southwest,
but for this kid from Florida, it truly is.
The clouds are enormous, the land goes on and on,
the distant mountains are luscious.

Cattail Waters- Spring

"Cattail Waters - Spring"
Oil on canvas, 12" X 16" $550

After several rainy and snow Spring days in the Rockies the sun finally came out.  The meadow was fresh and the sun drenched the cattails with light.  There are signs of Spring despite yesterdays snow.   The interplay and similarities between the sky, water, earth and plants fascinates me.
