A river Runs Through It

"A River Runs Through It"
Oil on Linen, 16" X 18"  $875

One of the most popular viewpoints at the Grand Canyon is from Moran Point.  At this view point you can see the Colorado River and Cape Royal on the north rim.  This painting is from a recent month long plein air painting trip.  This was completed in the studio.

"Last of the Snow"

"Last of the Snow"
Oil on Linen, 9" X 12"
$375

Seasonal transitions give artists wonderful time to create an art piece that moves from the past to the present.  Near Park City, Utah this scene struck me as one of those special moments.  The snow lingers but the plants are ready to burst forth.  The promise of the sun is reflected in the snow and produces the shadow lines.  The patterns are fascinating, and the eye can wander of into the barren trees.

While the earth is in winter I must still be in Autumn! You know those days when the sun light is not so intense but is oh so warm to the skin.

"Wild Prickly Pear

"Wild Prickly Pear"
Oil on Canvas, 8" X 10"
$250

So often we see the Prickly Pear in yards. A few weeks ago while wandering out in the Superstitions I came across this Prickly Pear cactus amongst the rocks of the desert. It just jumped out at me. It seemed like the Prickly Pear has made it's own composition just for me to paint. I love taking a simple scene and creating art from it.

Cactus Dry Wash

"Cactus Dry Wash"
Oil on Canvas, 8" X 10"
$275 (credit cards accepted)

Out in the Superstition Mountains are many "Washes" usually dry, filled with rocks, plants, sand, and filled with light. Here an ancient Saguaro presides over the now dry wash. Can you imagine what this might look like during a thunderstorm? Now, however it is peace in the desert.

Last Light

"Last Light"
Oil on Canvas, 12" X 16"
$650

What is more Arizona than "The Canyon?" "Last Light" is the latest in my series of Grand Canyon paintings. The day had been rainy but by evening the clouds parted and the famous Grand Canyon sunset was a gift to us all.

Autumn Valley Sunrise

"Autumn Valley Sunrise"

Oil on Canvas
12" X 16"
$650*

Facing East to the sunrise. I rose early one morning to paint at dawn and to create art of a sunrise morning in the southwest. The far hills are Bryce Canyon. The valley is "Long Valley' and the Sevier river flows through it. The rich Fall colors mixed with the morning warmth of the sun.

This painting has an amazing quality to it. As the daylight increases in the room where it is hung, the light gains strength just as a sunrise would.

Autumn's POnd

"Autumn's Pond"
Oil on Canvas 12"X16"
$650

As I travel the southwest every once in a while one gets surprised! I happened upon this pond, part of the Virgin River in Long Valley, Utah. Everything is here, water, the Fall trees and the red rocks. Who could resist. This painting framed in a dark wood color will enliven any decor. There is much to be discovered in this painting.
