I painted this in Sedona at Tlaquepaque with the Spanish style architectural arches, vines and plants in the pots. the light casting a shadow on the building was one of the main interests for me with the bright red geraniums. Painted in Colorado near Vail. I was attracted to the clear water and seeing bottom of the lake and reflections. It's nice how the reddish muddy bottom contrasts with the greens of the surrounding banks.

Plein air oil painting from Telluride. It was a gray day with very little light on the landscape. I couldn't find too much to inspire me where I was except for the clouds. Clouds are always interesting and a moving target when painting. You need to paint the essence of what you see.
