Cardinal Rules a

#twitterartexhibition is a whimsical 4x6 inch acrylic painting in the Binary Birds series by Jake Beckman. #twitterartexhibition is a small postcard created specifically for a twitter art exhibition in Moss Norway. The purpose of the exhibition is to get twitter-based artists together and to raise money for children's books for a public library in Norway. The project is put together by @DavidSandumArt. Each postcard received is symbolic of a tweet. In #twitterartexhibition, a yellow baby canary tweets its little heart out. The predominent colors are shades of blue, yellow, with a touch of orange, white and violet. Mother Night's Embrace is a whimsical 24 x 24 x 3/4 inch acrylic painting in the Abstract Concepts series by Jake Beckman. In Mother Night's Embrace an abstract dragon takes flight in the evening sky unfurling her wings to reveal a cape of stars. The serpent's wings seemingly embrace the moon. Lofty pines frame the starry night. Predominant colors are shades of purple, brown, black, white, yellow and just a touch of pink. Social Networking! by Jake Beckman
Social Networking!
Social Networking! is a whimsical 24 x 24 x 3/4 inch acrylic painting in the Binary Birds series by Jake Beckman. In Social Networking four brightly-colored individual canaries socially network in an equally brightly-colored foursquare pattern; the colors of the canaries, their feet eyes and beaks and the background color are linked via a rotating variation of color pattern. The work is inspired by Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe etal, wherein he repeated a theme and varied the colors. Predominant colors are shades of red, yellow, light blue, light green, pink, and white. the web
the web is a whimsical 14 x 11 x 3/4 inch acrylic painting in the Binary Birds series by Jake Beckman. In the web a yellow canary sings in the trees. The branches of the trees and leaves are interconnected by the branches themselves and also by a gossamer nimbus that flows from the ends of the leaves reaching out to adjacent twigs. The tree is representative of the organic nature of the world wide web. Predominant colors are shades of blue, white, dark brown, yellow and touches of orange. Splat!
Splat! is a whimsical acrylic painting in the Binary Birds series by Jake Beckman. It is 6 x 8 inches on archival canvas board. Splat! is a separable piece of a large whole representative of a cell phone key pad. The asterisk symbol is painted in interference violet paint giving it a little bling, and a single canary gazes upon it. The background is feathery spiral in shades of purple and lavender with touches of dark blue and maroon. The predominant colors are shades purple and yellow. Hash, by Jake Beckman
Hash
Hash is a whimsical acrylic painting in the Binary Birds series by Jake Beckman. It is 6 x 8 inches on archival canvas board. Hash is a separable piece of a large whole representative of a cell phone key pad. The number symbol is painted in interference blue paint giving it a little bling, and 2 canaries sit atop the vertical ends of the pound sign. The background is abstract airy abstract reminiscent of puffy clouds in shades of blue and white with just a touch of violet. The predominant colors are shades blue, white and yellow. In keeping with the Binary Birds social media theme the painting features ASCII Binary which represents, Hash, and #.
