Cardinal Rules by Jake Beckman

Cardinal Rules by Jake Beckman

Cardinal Rules by Arizona expressionist artist Jake Beckman roller derby birds
Cardinal Rules a Binary Birds painting; the title of the work is reflected in ASCII Binary Code in the background. This artwork is created digitally, meaning a print is its final fixed form.  As such all prints made of this image are original artwork, in the same manner as a photograph, or print made from an engraving, is considered original artwork. It can be reproduced in 8x10 inch, 16x20 inch or in a canvas print 24x32 inch.  Of course other sizes and substrates are possible.  Each image is signed by the artist after creation, and the edition noted in the margin of the print. The artwork depicts a roller derby cardinal hip checking a raven skater, while a bald eagle referee cries fowl.

AZteki by Jake Beckman

AZteki by Jake Beckman

AZteki by Arizona bird artist Jake Beckman Red tail hawk soars above abstract background
AZteki is an original acrylic painting on stretched canvas. The work is 24x18x3/4 inches. The work is painted on the edges so it may be hung without a frame.  AZteki is by  AZ contemporary bird artist Jake Beckman. In AZteki Jake is bringing some Arizona flavor to the Binary Birds art series. The red tail hawk is evocative of the desert southwest as are the colors in the painting, shades of warm browns, orange, pink, violet and yellow. The strand of binary in the painting reads "AZteki".

Fibonacci's Knot - by Jake Beckman

Fibonacci's Knot by Jake Beckman

Fibonacci's Knot

Fibonacci's Knot is an energetic 9-piece acrylic painting in the Abstract Concepts series by Jake Beckman. Each panel is 12 x 16 x 3/4 inch, which makes the overall work 3 x 4 feet. Fibonacci's Knot is a series of interlocking Fibonacci spirals, smaller ones in orange, larger ones in red. The background is in shades of warm brown, with broad fiery swatches of orange, yellow and red echoing the thinner spirals. There is just a touch of viridian and copper to bring the work together with some lovely desert southwest hues. Each panel is signed by the Artist, Jake, in the lower right hand corner.

The Abstract Concepts series encompasses Jake's free form exploration and expression of color, emotion, ideas, textures and structured formlessness, in search of the intrinsic quality of things rather than absolute concrete representation. "I just decided to revisit this particular concept again. I may do so a couple of more times...- Jake"

Bev Koldon: Pet Portrait "Mackey & Hurley" 16"x20" oil pastel on cradled gesso board

This portrait was a commission done for a wedding present to a wonderful couple.  It's a portrait of course of their two dogs.  The bride and groom are veterinarians.  These two dogs were buddies from the beginning.  Mackey the bull dog survived a crippling condition in her back legs.  With tender loving care, wearing braces and having personal physical therapy, she recovered and walks and runs totally normal.  Hurley is a rescue from a local shelter.  He is a very happy, healthy boy and a great friend to Mackey. It was an honor to do this portrait for two very professional and compassionate people.
