Study for Commission Acrylic on Canvas Paper

This is a sketch/study for a commission I am painting for a dear friend.  Always good to do a study before the painting.  It gives you some idea of values and colors to use before the real painting.  The commission will be done in oil on gallery canvas.

Punky Bear 5 x 7 oil on canvas board

Posted by:  Beverly Koldon Fine Art

I have always wanted to paint a colorful bear.  Interestingly enough, if the colors are the right shades of warm and cool,  you can create form.  This is my version of "Punky Bear."

This painting is available on an art auction site, Daily Paintworks.  Here is the link. http://www.dailypaintworks.com/buy/auction/257109

"Morning In Yarnell" by Li Hua Mahalik

Oil on Canvas, 14x18

Yarnell is a beautiful town about two hours of drive north of Phoenix. On highway 89 to and fro you can see cottonwood trees gather here and there along the creeks and mountains rising and falling in the distance and near. I love it's openness, crispy air and quietude. It's truly picturesque in every way.

This is painted from one of the pictures I took a year ago. For some reason I liked the composition even though it's somewhat unconventional. The perspective is good here.

Plein Air Impressionist Watercolor of Saguaro Cactus in Arizona

Seguaro Hilltop

Painted this on senoran desert outside Casa Grand. The Solitary Seguaro cactus I found very noble. It was that impression that made this painting so much fun to create. It will make a nice addition to your collection. Painting is 9" x "12 inches and is painted in watercolor on 120 lb cotton rag paper. Painting ships unframed.

"Caroline" By Li Mahalik

Oil on Gessoed Masonite Panel, 11"x14"

I meant to paint this lady abstractly but ended up painting her this way. The intent, though, freed me up from being too careful like I often do when I paint real objects.

If you're interested in this painting, please email me. Or visit my blog to see my more recent work. My website contains works in the last few years. Thank you so much for looking.
